5 - باب طَرْحِ الإِمَامِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ لِيَخْتَبِرَ مَا عِنْدَهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ . ( 5 )

62 - حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ النَّبِىِّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قَالَ « إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً لاَ يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا ، وَإِنَّهَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِ ، حَدِّثُونِى مَا هِىَ » .
قَالَ فَوَقَعَ النَّاسُ فِى شَجَرِ الْبَوَادِى . قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَوَقَعَ فِى نَفْسِى أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ ، ثُمَّ قَالُوا حَدِّثْنَا مَا هِىَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ « هِىَ النَّخْلَةُ » . أطرافه 61 ، 72 ، 131 ، 2209 ، 4698 ، 5444 ، 5448 ، 6122 ، 6144 - تحفة 7179

59 - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنِى إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُلَيْحٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِى أَبِى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِى هِلاَلُ بْنُ عَلِىٍّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا النَّبِىُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فِى مَجْلِسٍ يُحَدِّثُ الْقَوْمَ جَاءَهُ أَعْرَابِىٌّ فَقَالَ مَتَى السَّاعَةُ فَمَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يُحَدِّثُ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ سَمِعَ مَا قَالَ ، فَكَرِهَ مَا قَالَ ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَلْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ ، حَتَّى إِذَا قَضَى حَدِيثَهُ قَالَ « أَيْنَ - أُرَاهُ - السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ » . قَالَ هَا أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ « فَإِذَا ضُيِّعَتِ الأَمَانَةُ فَانْتَظِرِ السَّاعَةَ » . قَالَ كَيْفَ إِضَاعَتُهَا قَالَ « إِذَا وُسِّدَ الأَمْرُ إِلَى غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ فَانْتَظِرِ السَّاعَةَ » . طرفه 6496 - تحفة 14233 - 23/1

Meanings of Sunnah and Hadith

Sunnah means the Prophet's saying, what he did and what his Companions did and to which he showed no objection. There are three things dealt with here: speech, action and acceptance of action by others. Sometimes, we say hadith and mean what the Prophet said to his Companions about matters of practice, belief and other matters of daily life. Sunnah is the second source in Islamic belief and law, the first source is the Quran. Sunnah is to Quran an explanation or interpretation.[]

The Sunnah

The Arabic word "sunnah" is means 'enactment'. Accordingly, we find that in the Quran Allah says, "You will find no change in the enactment of Allah" (33:62). The word "hadith" is means 'a saying' or 'a discourse', refers to a quotation or an account of what happened. In common usage, these words are applied particularly to the Prophet Muhammad's practices or the way of life (sunnah), or to reports of what he did or said (hadith). Sunnah refers actually to those practices of Prophet Muhammad which are a part of his prophetic mission, not mere incidentals, and which were followed by his Companions.[]

Id-ul-Fitri

After Ramadlan the month of fasting, the Festival of Fast-breaking (Id-ul-Fitri) takes place on the first day of the succeeding month (Shawwal). The Day of Festival is the day of thanksgiving and rejoicing for the fulfillment of the obligation of fasting according to the command of Allah. On the Festival Day, it is recommended to have a bath, put on the best clothes, eat a few dates and gather for Id prayer after sunrise. Prayer is achieved by two units (rakaat), with no call for prayer; seven additional takbirat are added to the first unit and five additional takbirat are added to the second unit. Takbirat is means saying "Allahu Akbar", i.e. Allah is Most Great.[]

Night Prayer

During Ramadlan, Muslims pray at night. Allah's Messenger said that he who maintains tarawih sincerely, and in hope of earning a reward will have his past sins forgiven. These are supererogatory (aditional, optional) prayers performed during month of Ramadlan after the fifth prayer of the day, night prayer. These prayers are consist eight, ten or twenty units (rakaat). These prayers are not obligatory but are highly recommended, according the Prophet's own practice (sunnah), especially during last ten days of Ramadlan.[]

Atonement for Not Fasting Ramadlan

Atonement (kaffarat) is punishment or compentation for a sin one has committed, or an obligatory deed was one unable to do or for the intention breaking of fasting in Ramadlan. The atonement for the breaking of fasting Ramadlan is as follows: If the fast Ramadlan is invalidated intentionally by intercourse, its expiation is fasting two consecutive months. If one is unable to fast, he must feed sixty poor person, or one person for sixty days. It should be noted, however, that even these acts do not make up the lost day(s) of fasting.[]
